Looking at the Town Council attendances

I thought I would take a look at the Town Council attendances. The most recent was for 2009/10. I had to think of a baseline so I've only highlighted those who attended less than the average of 73%.

The Liberal Democrats - they are the majority group. Of these Cllr Birks resigned. Cllr Cooper-Marsh had the lowest attendance at 35%. Cllr Ottolangui was next lowest at 40%. Cllr Giles only attended 61% of the time. Cllr Eaton, who is very ill, attended just below the 73%.

On the Conservative side, with only 5 members, Cllr Bird only attended 62% of the time (Jenny is leader of the Conservatives) and Cllr Ursell hit only 66%.

Now attendance at meetings doesn't necessarily mean the Town Councillor isn't doing a good job. I do feel it is a reflection on how into being part of the Town Council they really are.

I will be using these statistics closer to the Town Council elections on 5th May 2011.

Can I just add, that my attendance has been low due to family and work commitments. I kept upto date with all the developments of the council, WHen I have been umable to make the eetings passed on my views and questions to the leader of my local party.
