UKIP must campaign for compulsory geography lessons

I read a letter from Brian of Huntingdon in the ever excellent St Neots News and Crier which came through my door yesterday. In it Brian says: "The troops are almost certainly there to protect oil and gas pipelines coming through Afghanistan from the Caspian Sea area, for consumption in the west."

Err...Afghanistan is far to the EAST of the Caspian Sea. Inbetween is Turkmenistan. So all the oil and gas would have to be pumped east for a  thousand miles before being turned round and pumped all the way back to the WEST.

Also there are many other reasons why pipelines don't go through Afghanistan. These are: Soviet Invasion, Civil War, Taliban, UN Invasion to number a few factors. Obviously Brian doesn't have a map handy so I feel Jennifer O'Dell, UKIP candidate, should campaign for compulsory geography lessons for all.
