Old Fire/Refuse site looks set for a cinema.

At the HDC Cabinet meeting on 21st January 2010 there is an item about result of the consultation. To me this will mean HDC will be looking to market this area for a cinema with a leisure package.

Of the 28 residents who responded to this consultation the vast majority want a cinema on this site. I know I take a different view on all this to the many of my fellow residents of St Neots. This is because I feel this is in the wrong place and will cause problems to local residents. It will also mean a reduction in urban open space land.

One problem that does need resolving is that of access. To get to the site any vehicle will have to go over Lidl land. Whether Lidl will allow access is up to Lidl. As the Planning Department is now onside for a cinema on this site it is very likely to have few planning restrictions on it.

So the planning problems seem to be out of the way, it is now up to the operators to come forward with a scheme.
