The cuts are coming and the consultation. According to the local papers there were 250 face to face consultations, 568 took place online, and more than 1,000 residents gave their views on paper and e-mail. This is roughly 10% of the population.
In the letters section of the Hunts Post there is one from Joanna Wells of Eaton Socon. I agree with Joanna in that District Wide could and should have been used. HDC could have used the Neighbourhood Forums but didn't.
HDC has known for many years this needs to happen. Whilst the online consultation was excellent, more could have been done before to consult the residents.
